Polish Motif Notan
For this in-class project, we were introduced to Adobe Illustrator and the tools we could use to achieve symmetry, and most importantly, explore negative space and the implied shapes within. I chose flowers as the motif, with which I created a sense of symmetry by making a floral pattern with balance and harmony. The style itself resembles traditional Eastern European artwork, paying homage to my (half) Polish side. Every flower, leaf, and berry were created using exclusively circles.
