Waves Sketchbook

This assignment tasked us with designing a sketchbook specifically for ourselves in Illustrator and then creating it using a laser cutter. My goal was to make one that inspired me and was beautiful while still having practicality, something that is reflective of my own personal design philosophy. To make this sketchbook, I cut out the wave design in mat board, and then glued all of the individual pieces onto a piece of foiled card stock. The ruler that clicks into the spiral is made of a flexible acrylic, which can also function as a bookmark to keep track of the page I’m working on. I also included a pocket in the back in order to store loose leaf papers.
